Thassos: Where to go?

This is where the fleet of the island used to moor in ancient times. Today it is a picturesque neighborhood to stroll around and to have your coffee by the sea.



Ancient Agora includes the remains of the ancient town of Thassos. There are the ruins of temples and sanctuaries, an odeum, a theatre, and the Acropolis. It is located on a hill above Limenas.



Archaeological Site of Alyki

During the antiquity, Aliki was a kingdom with a large population and a big port.



Ancient Theater

The ancient theatre was constructed in a natural cavity on the hill in Limenas. It was excavated in 1921 by the French Archaeological School.



Ancient Marble quarry

The ancient quarry of marble is situated in the area of Alykes. It was used from ancient times to Byzantine years. Huge marble rocks are discernible under the surface of the sea.



Archaeological Museum

This interesting museum is located in the capital of Thassos, the town of Limenas. It displays various findings from Ancient Agora and other excavation sites on Thassos, such as potteries, statues, terracotta figurines, jewelry, and others.



This is an old monastery with interesting architecture, located on a hill above Livadi. It has been built on top of a cliff and the view from up there is captivating.



This small museum is located in the village of Potamia, next to the church. It is dedicated to the sculptor Polygnotos Vagis, who was born in Potamia, emigrated in America and became an established artist. The museum displays realistic and abstract works of the sculptor.



Archaeological Site of Evraiokastro

Evraiokastro is located in Limenas, near the Acropolis and the ancient theatre.



Tarsanas

Tarsanas is located in the centre of the harbor in Skala Potamias and hosts cultural events.
